ISLAMABAD: In spite of critic
ism by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Prime Min
ister Nawaz Sharif wants to lure the PPP into avoiding any future p
rotest.
The government sources told Daily Times that Nawaz has given the task to his close confidante Finan
ce Minister Ishaq Dar to contact PPP leadership and invite them for talks on four points.
“Yes, the finance min
ister is in contact with Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Khursheed Shah. Dar has requested Shah to give the names of some senior leaders so the government could start negotiations with opposition committee,” sources added.
From the government’s side, Dar would head the committee while Law Min
ister Zahid Hamid, SAFFRON Min
ister Abdul Qadir Baloch
and Railways Min
ister Saad Rafiq would assist him. The talks are likely to start next week during the parliamentary sessions, they said. Sources also said Nawaz did not want the PPP to take to the streets against him while Bilawal has made it clear that if their four points were not accepted until December 27 then they would start countrywide p
rotests.
