ISLAMABAD: An additional sessions judge (ASJ) on Friday
rejected the alleged torture of a 10-year-old maid by him and his f
amily, in a verbal statement recorded before the Registrar of the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
On the directives of Chief Justice Muhammad
Anwar Khan Kasi, IHC Registrar Raja Jawad Abbas inquired about the
matter from the judge. During the inquiry, the judge
rejected the allegation. He was directed by the Registrar to submit his written state
ment in that regard on Saturday.
The IHC Chief Justice took notice of a news report aired by a private news channel that the 10-year-old maid was allegedly tortured by the family of the judge. He directed the Registrar to hold an inquiry into the
matter.
